Bugsy Install Notes
If you already have v0.619 or greater installed, you can skip reading everything after this because all that you need is the updated zip file for v0.631: DVC2 Kds.zip
If you do not have v0.619 or greater installed you have two choices to install
the files you need. You can download v0.631 as a full installation package or
download individual components for v0.631 that you manually install.
Bugsy0631.exe - Installation package including Main exe, dlls and ActiveX files (This is a better choice than the file below if you are running WinXP)
Bugsy0631MSjetMdac.exe - Installation package including Main exe, dlls,
ActiveX files and database files
If you did not use "Bugsy0631MSjetMdac.exe" then you need to make sure the
following four items are installed:
Microsoft Data Access Components
Microsoft Jet 4.0
Microsoft MFC7
Microsoft Data Grid ActiveX object
Microsoft Data Access Components and Jet 4.0 must be installed. Newer operating
systems (Win2k and WinXP) most likely already have these installed and it is
recommended that you run Bugsy once before installing them to see if it works.
Microsoft Data Access Components 2.7 RTM
Microsoft Jet 4.0
SP3
The Microsoft MFC7 dlls must be installed. It is recommended to place them in
your System32 directory:
DVC2 Kds_dll.zip
A Microsoft Data Grid ActiveX object must be installed. Run "install.bat" to
copy the files to your System32 folder and register them:
DVC2 Kds Ocx.zip
Timer.mdb and JobQueue.mdb must be in the same folder as DVC2_Kds.exe.
If this is the first time you have used any version of Bugsy, choose one of the
following Registry files (based on your system configuration) from the "Reg
Files" folder and double click it to enter it into the Registry. It writes to
HKLM/Software/DVC2_Kds
DVC2_KDS_NTSC-Win2k.reg
DVC2_KDS_NTSC-Win98.reg
DVC2_KDS_PAL-Win2k.reg
DVC2_KDS_PAL-Win98.reg
If you are upgrading from v0.604 or earlier run "Update.reg" in the "Reg Files"
folder to add a few new items to your Registry.
If you are running Win98 or earlier you must set the menu item "On Failed
Capture" to "Ignore" otherwise your capture will fail at about the 1:10 mark.
