System Requirements ----------------------- 1) Intel Pentium CPU, or 100% compatible. 2) Sound Blaster sound card. 3) TNT Graphics Accelerator. 4) 32 MB Memory (64 MB Recommended). 5) DirectX 6.1 or later. ---------------------------- 2. Installation and Removal ---------------------------- This installation is not removable in any general sense. Once DirectX is installed, it cannot be removed by any straightforward method. Since this program should not be run on a system that already has Glide functionality, there is no reason to un-install the added Glide features -- they are doing no harm if they aren't being used. -------------------------------- 3. New Features In This Release -------------------------------- 1) Support for 3D Blaster Savage 4 has been added. 2) Performance optimization has been done. 3) More linear frame buffer write modes added. 4) Initialization code fixes. Descent 3 now works. 5) Alpha test fixes have been added. ------------------- 4. Driver Features ------------------- This driver intercepts Glide2X calls and translates them to Direct3D calls. This driver takes full advantage of the functionality of TNT based cards, including single-pass multitexturing. This driver will not do multitexturing on Savage4. ---------------------------------- 5. Known Issues With This Release ---------------------------------- 1) Texturing Errors. Occasionally textures will not appear, or will be truncated. 2) Depth buffering precision errors. Because the 16-bit depth buffer formats of Voodoo, TNT, and Savage4 based cards are different, precision errors will occasionally occur. 3) Bugs with NCC textures. Textures that are NCC compressed will show up with the wrong colors. 4) Chromakeying does not work yet. -------------------- 6.
